(Ritual on Main Coffeehouse has been sold and the new owners, Abbie Sizer McIntosh and her family, are excited to share that the same experience continues when you visit the coffeehouse.)
When the Ritual on Main Coffeehouse opened it’s doors in November 2021, Chi Houron shared with Stittsville Central “Ritual on Main is the concept of community and Stittsville is an amazing community in which to open a business”. At the time, she also owned The Thirsty Maiden in Kanata, and went on to open Ritual Carleton Place and Ritual Mobile Bar.
Sharing the news that she had sold Ritual on Main, Chi shared, “Thank you! After eight years operating Thirsty Maiden, Ritual Stittsville & Carleton Place and Ritual Mobile Bar has been the most rewarding moments of my life.” “Big and heartfelt thank you to the Ottawa community for being there for the journey. The new owners are looking forward to carrying on our values and warming your hearts. Until I see you again,” sharing on the end of this venture for her. Albeit, we hear she may be getting into the baking business!
It was on July 27th when local Stittsville resident, Abbie Sizer McIntosh and her husband took over ownership of Ritual on Main Coffeehouse. As the family enters this new adventure, Abbie told us, “We have the shared values as Chi and the same vibe at Ritual will be kept.” “I want to build on community partnerships and have a happy husband – ha!”
“We are so pleased that the staff will all be remaining and having Mandy Faulkner as the Manager, we are in good hands.” With a young family, this will be a relief for Abbie and her husband to know that the coffeehouse is in good hands when they are unable to be there.
“There will make some changes to the menu options – providing more gluten-free and plant-based options for those in the community have been requesting.” “We will also be introducing a new coffee brand from Ottawa business, Ministry of Coffee, a staple of the local specialty coffee scene.”
Having been a former President of the Stittsville Business Association, Abbie is heritage and community minded saying, “to continue the legacy of this historic building, we are proud to be introducing Ministry of Coffee beans for residents to purchase called ‘Butler House Blend’ in keeping with the significance of the building.” And don’t worry, a new Ritual Rewards program has been introduced.
There are also plans to bring in some local entertainment, such as acoustic guitar evenings, for residents to sit back and relax to the music.
“We are forever grateful for the love, warmth and support we have received from our community of Stittsville in this new venture. It is an exciting opportunity to invest in the community where we live,” Abbie ended.
