LEGION: Here’s what’s coming up at the Stittsville Legion

WEEKLY EVENTS
Euchre
hosted by the Legion’s 55 Plus Club is played every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Legion Hall on Stittsville Main Street. Everyone is welcome to participate.
 An “OPEN MIKE and SING A LONG” with Bill Martin is held every Friday starting at 8 p.m. in the downstairs lounge at the Legion Hall. Come and enjoy some Country and some Rock n Roll music. Everyone is welcome to attend, there is NO cover charge.

The knitting/crochet clubs meets at the Legion Hall every Monday at 6:30 p.m. except for holidays. Anyone interested is welcome to come join in, The group has added rescue dolls as well as the baby bonnets and pic line covers. All wool donations would be appreciated.

On May 17th Euchre was played at the Legion with  Vanita Pilon having the most lone hands. Dene Lavergne had the Ladies High Score with Dorita Bush placing second. Don Melfe had the Men’s High Score with Bob Belanger placing second. Low Score was won by Marion Jones. Joe Borsa won the hidden score.

“SUMMER FUN DARTS” started on Thursday,  May 19th  at 7:00 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to come out and play every Thursday.

DARTS:  1st place winning team on Thursday Night Darts were Team “Last Call” Dave Duggan, Mike Leblanc and Doug McCrady. 1st place winning team on Friday Night Darts were Team “Hot Shots” Scott Pitkeathly, Huguette Patry and Aileen Appel.

INFORMATION
On Friday, May 13th the Dart Banquet took place with a delicious meal prepared and served by Chef Paul, Sean, Chris and Bill.  After dinner the group “Lil’ Al’s Combo“ played and had everyone dancing and having a great time.

On Saturday, May 14th “Karaoke” with Miceal Powell took place with a full house of great singers. Miceal would like to thank all the singers who made this evening such a huge success.

On Sunday, May 15th a Legion Clean Up took place with lots of hard workers which included some students. 1st Vice, Sue McCormick would like to thank everyone for all their hard work.

Upcoming events at the Legion are always posted on the billboard sign at the front of the Legion Hall, easily seen by those passing by on Stittsville Main Street.

The clothing collection bin is in place on the Stittsville Legion property on Stittsville Main Street. It is a partnership between the Stittsville Legion and the BIG BROTHERS and BIG SISTERS organization. Good used clothing donations will be more than welcome for this new collection bin.
