StoryArt Creative Centre & Boutique is pleased to announce it will be holding an open house on Saturday June 3rd and Sunday June 4th, 2017. StoryArt is a newly-opened gift shop and art centre located on Stittsville Main St. that houses handmade artwork, jewellery, gifts and decor. The boutique is now home to the works of over 30 local artists, artisans and makers. They also carry a small assortment of curated retro, vintage and antique pieces.
“Our boutique features artwork from local artists working in various mediums and styles. From portraits, abstracts, to mixed-media, we have delightful pieces to suit many tastes. We also carry unique handmade jewellery and wire sculptures created locally,” stated Mel Richer, StoryArt Creative Director.
A unique and eclectic shop in an old stone house, StoryArt also houses The Crystal Nook in a round turret at the front of the building. The Crystal Nook features tumbled stones, crystals, incense, pendulums and more and occasionally features sessions with local tarot card readers and angel messengers.
“The home itself has a lot of history and absolutely adds to the charm of the space we’ve tried to create,” continued Ms. Richer. “Visitors are invited to peruse our unique collection of art, jewellery and gifts and see what creative workshops they may want to try. Some of our artists will also be on hand throughout the open house offering demos of their artistic practice as well as talking about their craft,” concluded Ms. Richer.
The second story is home to a studio featuring workshops and classes in the creative arts. The workshops, classes and get-togethers offered in the second story studios span a broad range of creative activities including writing, watercolour, collage, mixed media, abstract art, sewing, knitting, wire sculpture and much more.
StoryArt offers customized group packages for creative birthday parties, corporate retreats or just a fun night out with friends. If you have a creative youth in the family, they will be opening their studios for morning and afternoon creative workshops this summer.
