LETTER: Volunteers needed for back pain thesis research

My name is Blair Dunbar and I am co-owner of Syner-G Massage Therapy and Wellness Center. I am a licensed Registered Massage Therapist. I am working on the final stages of a 5-year osteopathic program at the Canadian College of Osteopathy.

In order to fulfill the final requirements of the Diploma of Osteopathic Manual Therapy, I am conducting a thesis research study.

I am recruiting volunteer subjects for this study. I am investigating the effectiveness of an osteopathic manual technique involving visceral manipulation on low back pain.

Requirements:

  • Stiff or painful low back AND/OR
  • Decreased low back range of motion
  • Are between the ages of 18-45

Classical osteopathy is a manual form of healing which emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function of the body, using the delicate application of touch (palpation), knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and continual communication (listening) with the body.

For more details on this study, please consult my thesis website www.BlairDunbar.com
