Last month, John Brummell spoke to the Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society on how he judged the photographs with 40% photographic values, 40% horticultural value and 20% on appearance. As well as giving tips on future photographic adventures John spent time explaining the details of each photograph and answering questions.

After the judging, John showed several of his own photos and discussed their style and content. John always looks for the smile, the true interest of the photo. He also discussed how to position flat surfaces so that the flash does not reflect. Overall John stressed “don’t rush your photos”.

A wonderful and informative evening.
