There will be something for everyone at the first annual Crabapple Blossom Fest, held throughout Crossing Bridge Estates, Stittsville on Sunday, May 19th (rain date, Sunday, May 26th 2019).
Highlights include:
Displays: Classic car(s), Wakeboarding boat, motorcycle, quilts, pottery, art, martial arts
Games: Tug-o-war, parachute, sack races, egg on a spoon races, chess, checkers, Twister and the Guinness World Record setting game of musical lawn chairs
Mini Market: Pottery, jewelry, arts, crafts, gifts, treats
Educational: A “walk-talk” with a tree expert along the Blossom Route, “Learn to Bike” for kids, bike tune ups, outdoor yoga, a “Blossom” themed paint event, a screening of a documentary chronicling one family’s decision to remove a tree and replace it with a young crabapple tree
Food & Drink: Crabapple jelly, Holmespun Ice Cream bike, food tuck(s), The Crossing Bridge Residents Association BBQ
Other! A bike decorating contest, a bike parade along the Blossom Route, family photos under the blossoms by a pro photographer, mini manicures, henna, face painting, live music, a dress up tent with mirrors, a community garage sale, and a closing ceremony with a guest speaker and musical performance.
