Following two closures in earlier May, once again the O-Train Confederation Line 1 will close temporarily with the R1 replacement bus servicing the line from Sunday, May 31 to Wednesday, June 3. The Confederation Line will reopen on Thursday, June 4. The bus service will operate frequently to allow enough space for physical distancing.
This closure will allow Rideau Transit Group (RTG) to test updated software and do infrastructure and maintenance work as they continue to address issues that have impacted service.
Entrances to most Line 1 stations will be closed and customers will only have access to R1 bus stops. O-Train ambassadors will be outside Line 1 stations to direct customers to the bus stops.
The City is allowing RTG to complete this work while ridership is low due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
