Zida Academy is Canada’s first and only Steinway Select School. We are licensed for children ages 18 months to six years. Our curriculum combines innovative pedagogy with the benefits of music training at a young age to educate children as individuals academically, socially and physically.
Our Music for Young Children classes are about having fun while learning the best quality music program. We teach in a variety of children’s learning styles and they learn to play through a multi-sensory approach. We sing, we move, we play games, we learn through characters, we compose, we play rhythm instruments, we play the keyboard, we assign age-appropriate homework that may involve cutting or coloring . . . and through all of this, we have fun! Students learn quicker because of the hands on fun and we keep them engaged for the hour-long lesson! They don’t even realise how much of a solid foundation in music they are building.

First Fret Music School offers lessons on a variety of instruments as well as tutoring in music theory, performance, and songwriting. Students of all ages and skill levels are welcome!
First Fret Music School was founded in 2010 and has taught hundreds of students of all ages how to play, perform, and discover their passion for music.
Teachers at First Fret Music School understand that each student is different and each student has their own goals and aspirations. Whether it’s learning to strum a chords around the campfire, earning extra high school credit, building up the confidence to perform live, or mastering scales and theory, to learn to play, you’ve got to start with the First Fret.
The programs at St. Thomas focus on nurturing faith in Christ through worship, education, and pastoral care. We seek always to serve God's world by continuing Jesus' ministry of compassion and hospitality. This is made possible through the stewardship of the many blessings given to us by the Holy Spirit.
We have a nursery, a Sunday School (called God's Garden), an active youth group (called the Jumpin' Spirits), a youth choir (called The Campanella Choir), many social events, pastoral care, and a music ministry with a traditional choir and a contemporary praise group (called Cornerstone).
