OVERVIEW: The purpose of Dr. Rock’s humourous presentation is to encourage conversations on family systems dynamics, emotional intelligence skills, and the role of spirituality in our lives so that we may reflect on our own fluency in emotional intelligence as well as the necessary O2 to create and sustain a spirit of living and working well.

Speaker and Facilitator: Dr. Michael Rock
Prof. Michael Rock (ret.) is a resident of Wildpine Retirement Community. He has spent over 50 years both in undergraduate and graduate M.A., Ph.D. courses in Leadership and MBA programs. He has also been a consultant in corporate leadership practices; the science and training in emotional intelligence skills; negotiations in business ethics and business human relations; and the learning and practice of organizational behaviour and design. He is a Licensed EQ-iTM practitioner (Emotional Intelligence InventoryTM), an experienced Jungian Dream Practitioner (C.G. Jung Institute, Zürich/Toronto, 1978-2004), and a Certified Instructor (Interpersonal Communications Program, Inc., Univ. of Minnesota (1977-1978). His 10 degrees include: B.A. (Classics: Latin-Greek), B.Ph. (Philosophy), B.Th./S.T.B. (Theology), M.Th. (Theology), L.Th./S.T.L. (Masters and Licentiate, Theology), Ed.D. (Doctor of Education, Indiana University), D.Th. (Doctor of Theology), and a Ph.D. (Spirituality and the Workplace). Michael has written and edited over 50 books, 500 business journal articles, and graduate online learning programs. Selected books include Ethics: To Live By, To Work By; The 7 Pillars of Visionary Leadership (w/CD, Harvard endorsement); Reflections: The Human Journey; Grippings: Reflections on the Human Journey; EQ Goes to Work; Widowhood: The Death of a Spouse; and St. Benedict’s Guide to Improving Your Work Life: Workplace as Worthplace (Novalis, 2015). He continues to write a monthly business journal article and is completing his new book: Story and Imagination: The Prophetic Calling Rooted in Each of Our Lives.
