ChiChi Houron (Chi as she is known) is the heart behind the unique coffee house – Ritual on Main – opening its doors on November 17th on Stittsville Main. With the success of her sister coffee shop, The Thirsty Maiden in Kanata, Chi wanted to expand her borders and bring an exciting coffee shop to Stittsville. She recently opened her Village Envy Boutique in the same building where Ritual on Main is located. Stittsville Central was invited to share a first look at this new business.

The coffee house is trendy, with a cozy lounge feeling, with greenery and mirrors reflecting the outside light. The original brick wall is a centrepiece of the historical building. Hanging chandeliers add to the atmosphere. It is the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy the ambience, meet friends, relax with a coffee and a delicious pastry. Chi believes in repurposing, so took the time to find and purchase the perfect chairs to fit with the atmosphere. Once found, she refurbished each. They are so comfortable, you may not want to leave.

Freshly-roasted coffee, baked goods, sandwiches and more will be offered at Ritual on Main. Chi told us, “I always source out local to support other businesses and bring the best of local products into my businesses”. “Everything at Ritual will be local,” she emphasized.

“Ritual on Main is the concept of community and Stittsville is an amazing community in which to open a business,” Chi said. The location is perfect for those walking Stittsville Main or the Trans Canada Trail, located just to the south, to drop in for a coffee either inside or on the heated outdoor porch. The heated porch can be accessed all year-long from which you can take in the scenery along the TC trail or watch life going by on Stittsville Main.

Ritual on Main will offer its regular menu of pastries and sandwiches, but is pleased to also offer both Vegan and Vegetarian options. The desserts will be made in-house daily. The coffee is sourced locally by Brown Bag Coffee Roasters. Brown Bag is located in Aylmer, Quebec and they offer the latest in roasting technology, built around fluid bed roasting – guaranteeing the freshest coffee to be served.

The doors open on November 17 with an official opening ceremony at 9:30am. The hours of business for Ritual on Main are scheduled as Sunday to Wednesday from 8:00am to 6:00pm; Thursday to Saturday from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

To follow Ritual on Main, visit @ritual_on_main and don’t forget to follow Village Envy located in the same building at the rear. Both Ritual on Main and Village envy are located at 1510 Stittsville Main Street at the corner of Abbott in the historic former Green’s/Butler Hotel.

We look forward to welcoming Ritual on Main to Stittsville and wish Chi much success with this new Stittsville business.
