The A&W in Stittsville is on a mission to give back locally. In 2021, the franchise will be providing 1,200 meals to a youth in need at the Kanata Food Cupboard. Through a formed partnership with Mealshare Canada and your help, A&W will be able to reach their goal. For every Mealshare item purchased at the Stittsville A&W location, one simple healthy meal will be provided to a youth in need.
Val Ellah, Mealshare Ottawa Community Leader, told Stittsville Central, “I’m very excited to announce that A&W Canada has signed up for Mealshare! As a result of COVID and the impact it has had on the restaurant industry, Mealshare was at a crossroads to find solutions to support its charities. This partnership is a game-changer for Mealshare and all the Canadian youth we support!”
On ‘Mealshare’ Mondays, the A&W in Stittsville will be supporting the Kanata Food Cupboard. All customers have to do is order a Cheddar Bacon Uncle Burger Combo, and another meal will be provided to a youth in need at the Kanata Food Cupboard. Or, on any day of the week, place your order and say ‘make it a Mealshare’ for $1.00 extra and again you will be providing a meal to a youth.
Susan Senecal, Chief Executive Officer at A&W Canada said, “No child should ever go hungry, especially in a country like Canada, so we’re thrilled that we can be a part of this initiative.”
Mealshare was founded in 2013 in Alberta by Jeremy Bryant and Andrew Hall, best friends since kids, with four partner restaurants and has since expanded to over 1,200 restaurants and have served 3,400,000 meals to youth in need. Canadian owned and operated A&W recently joined the charity.
Jeremy Bryant was pleased to say, “A&W is an amazing organization and a leader in the industry through its many environmental and social initiatives.” “The support of A&W restaurants will make a huge impact for Mealshare and all the youth we support across the entire country.”
So next time you are craving a burger, think of the youth you can help by ordering a Mealshare meal from the Stittsville A&W.
