2020 will be an exciting year for the Bell Warriors Football Club (BWFC). The Club is celebrating 65 years of non-profit community football programs for youth in our communities of Stittsville, Munster, Richmond, Bell’s Corners, Bayshore and Crystal Beach.

“The Bell Warriors Football Club is entering into our 65 year of providing youth football programs in 2020 and we are so proud and excited. Literally hundreds of volunteers and thousands of youth have been part of our program since 1955. We think that football is the ultimate team sport and why wouldn’t we. Of course, it is fun but football is also about providing valuable life skills that our players will take with them long after their playing days are done,” Paul Stewart, President of the Bell Warriors Football Club told Stittsville Central.

The Warriors are hosting their annual team banquets along with their 8th Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser in January 2020. To date, $40,000 has been raised through the Silent Auction with 100% of proceeds having provided the opportunity for 100 players to play tackle football over the years – keeping the sport affordable for all. The Bell Warriors want football to be accessible to all youth and with the funds raised, they supply 100% of the required sports equipment and invest $30,000 annually in new equipment. Player fees cover approximately 40% of the Warriors budget; however, it is with fundraisers such as the all-important Silent Auction that keeps the Club going.

The Warriors are looking for supporters to step up and make a donation to one of their two auctions on January 18 and 19 (held in conjunction with their awards banquets). The Bell Warriors are a 100% volunteer-based community football program offering boys and girls ages 5-23 the chance to play. To continue their football programs and mentoring youth in our community, you can make a donation to their silent auction by emailing for more details.

During both banquets, the Silent Auction Fundraiser being held, “allows our families to contribute back to the club and for local businesses to show our entire Warriors family that they support our efforts to encourage healthy, active lifestyles and to engage our community’s youth” said Warriors President Paul Stewart.

Stewart went on to say, “for our youth, our program reinforces and rewards hard work, dedication, teamwork, responsibility, respect and selflessness.  We bring together youth with varied backgrounds and experiences and over a series of months of practices and games, they have to learn to work together, respect process, and commit to each other. They have to learn to not fear failure and to embrace challenging themselves. Before they know it, they are accomplishing goals which were inconceivable when they started and they do it as a team, as one.” … “the Warriors are working to create a positive, encouraging, safe and instructive learning environment for our young players. It’s all about instilling confidence, competence, and inner-pride in our youth. Our great sport rewards those the most that learn the value of hard work by working hard’. Nothing makes us happier than to see our players become trusted friends and our families become absolutely committed Warriors and football fans. Our motto is ‘WARRIORS FOR LIFE’ and it defines our every action and decision. For 65 years, we have a club-wide commitment to graduate athletes that take the lessons learned and apply them to become successful and respectful community-based leaders.”

“The only things more important than community are our youth. We are VERY PROUD of what we have accomplished over the years and want to keep growing our sport … but we need you to help,” concluded Stewart.

“Make a donation today … BE PART OF THE SOLUTION! Thank you from the Warriors!”
