Ottawa Police officers arrested a man armed with a knife breaking into homes overnight in Stittsville. Frontline Patrol Police were called to Jonathan Pack Street at about 12:35am when a home owner saw a suspect in their backyard attempting to break in or steal something.
While there, another resident on the same street approached officers to say a man just kicked his door down.
Shortly after, there was a third report of an attempted break-in on a nearby street with the same suspect description.
Officers located the man and approached him to place him under arrest. He produced a knife and ran. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested without further incident.
Zachary J. White, 31 years old, of Ottawa, is charged with:
- Break and enter with intent x2
- Trespassing at Night
- Mischief under 5000 dollars x2
- Resisting arrest
- Assaulting police with a weapon
White will appear in court today. Police believe there may be other victims.
