Several readers sent in reports about a house fire at a house at 1418 Stittsville Main Street, next to Warner-Colpitts Lane across from the Johnny Leroux arena.
The Ottawa Fire dispatch radio reported fire was coming through the roof of the house when crews arrived.
A line of severe thunderstorms passed through the area just before neighbours heard sirens in the area.
The house had recently been for sale.

911 callers reporting flames visible from roof of the house. Working fire declared on arrival around 7.30pm. ;The building is a vacant house. No injuries reported, and suspected cause is a lightning strike. The fire was under control by about 8pm and damage is estimated at $15,000.
