(Press release from the Ottawa Catholic School Board.)

At this time, the Ottawa Catholic School Board does not have any labour disruptions pending.

For your information, there are three different unions representing teachers in Ontario English publicly funded school boards.

  • Catholic schools: All Kindergarten to Grade 12 teachers at English Catholic school boards are represented by the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA). This group is in negotiation at the provincial level. Local negotiations have not started. OECTA has NOT given notice of any pending labour disruption.
  • Public high schools: All high school teachers at English public school boards are represented by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF). This group currently has strike action in Durham, Sudbury and Peel. More English public board high schools may soon be affected.
  • Public elementary schools: All elementary school teachers at English public school boards are represented by the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO). This group is currently in a legal strike position and there will be a partial service disruption starting May 11.
