Spring is on the horizon, and with it comes spring cleaning – not just in the house, but in the community as well. Registration for Cleaning the Capital’s Spring Campaign starts on March 15th.
As COVID-19 restrictions gradually ease, this year’s campaign is expected to be more traditional. However, public health and safety measures will continue to be reinforced as they evolve.
Like previous campaigns, participants can register their cleanup projects, starting March 15th, either by using the online registration form or by calling 3-1-1. Displayed with the registration form is an interactive map showing which locations have been chosen for cleanup projects. Cleanup kits will be made available for pick-up by registrants at one of seven City of Ottawa facilities. These kits include garbage bags and gloves.
Key dates for the Spring Campaign include:
- March 15: Registration opens
- April 15 to May 31: Cleaning the Capital Spring Campaign
- April 22: Earth Day 2022
- April 30: Registration closes
- June 15: Deadline to submit cleanup reports online
The 2022 Spring Campaign marks Cleaning the Capital’s 29th year of engaging residents to keep our city clean and green. Despite atypical campaigns throughout the global pandemic, nearly 11,000 participants registered 1,150 projects in 2021.
