Alanna Code, Office Administrator at Stittsville United Church (SUC), sent out the following message to be shared with the community regarding activities at the Church.
“As most of Ontario, including Ottawa, moves into Stage 3 of re-opening today, I wanted to touch base with you to let you know how we are proceeding at Stittsville United Church.
Guided by the results of a survey of the congregation, a team of health experts has been working on proposals and procedures for resuming in-person activities at Stittsville United Church. The SUC Board has reviewed the team’s proposals and has made some decisions about the next few months.
Unfortunately, one of those is that the church building is not expected to be available for any community use in the near future. We expect community use to be suspended until at least January 2021. This is due in large part to current Public Health guidelines for sanitization, PPE, and physical distancing that would be very difficult to implement, maintain, and enforce.
While we regret that we will be unable to provide space for your group(s) in the foreseeable future, please rest assured that you are a very important part of our plans to resume in-person activities in the building. Ensuring the health and safety of everyone is, however, our top priority.”
