COMMUNITY NOTES: from the desk of Councillor Gower

It’s another week and Councillor Glen Gower shares some community notes on the temporary closure of Huntmar Drive; new crossing guards; a Canada Post pilot project; and his November 17 webinar on “Revitalizing Stittsville Main Street”. Be informed by reading the Councillor’s notes.

Huntmar Drive temporary road closure
Huntmar Drive will be closed between Maple Grove Road and Palladium Drive overnight from 6:00pm Monday November 23rd to Tuesday November 24th at 7:00am. The contractor, Thomas Cavanagh Construction Ltd. will be Installing sanitary and watermain for 195 Huntmar Drive. Notification signs will be posted. Local and emergency vehicle access will be maintained. The impact to traffic will be low.

New school crossing guards on Hartsmere
Two new crossing guards are being hired to improve safety on Hartsmere Drive near Westwind Public School and Guardian Angels School.  The guards will be located at Hartsmere and Dalmation, and 100 Hartsmere Drive right in front of Westwind Public School. Guards will be out each school day between 8:45-9:25am and 3:35-4:15pm.

Canada Post parcel locker pilot
Canada Post is adding extra parcel compartments to 14 existing community mailboxes in our community. Residents who access their mail and parcels at these sites will continue to use the same mailbox and keys they currently do. For more info visit canadapost.ca.
