Councillor Glen Gower wants to make residents aware of the following upcoming and ongoing Stittsville construction operations and installations that may affect your travel or daily life.

Stormwater Pond Maintenance
The City’s Stormwater Management Branch will be undertaking rehabilitation work this fall at two Stormwater Management Facilities in Stittsville: The Echowoods Pond (123 Echowoods Ave./66 Lloydalex Cres.) and Timbermere (1080 Carp Road). More info…

Blasting continues south of Fernbank
Blasting operations resumed this week on the Davidson Lands in the south part of Stittsville near the Edenwylde subdivision. Blasting is expected to take one week.

Bell fiber optic installation in Fringewood and Amberway
Contractors will be installing new Bell fiber infrastructure in the coming weeks in the Fringewood and Amberway neighbourhooods.  Utility locates (spray paint and flags) have already started and the work is expected to start soon. Streets affected include:

  • Victor Street
  • Greer Street
  • Savage Drive
  • Iva Street
  • Denham Way
  • Sweetman Drive
  • Cedarow Court

Porter Place construction access
Cavanagh and Patten Homes are starting the final phase of construction in the Porter Place neighbourhood, and will be blocking off the temporary Fernbank access road to construction traffic.  Construction traffic will now be using Stitittsville Main and Porter, since it’s the closest access point.
