Craving sated – Maverick’s Donut Company has opened in Stittsville!

We have all been waiting for it – the day that Maverick’s opens in Stittsville. Well, today was that day and the line-ups proved the anticipation for the opening. The first day of opening was such a success that the donuts sold out by mid-afternoon!

The Stittsville couple who bring you this celebrated brand of donuts are Liz Ellwood and Jon Martin. Jon has resided in Stittsville for 15 years and Liz has been here for two. Liz told Stittsville Central, “Jon had been looking into a Maverick’s franchise opportunity for some time before deciding that this was the perfect franchise to bring to Stittsville”.

Liz went on to say, “Stittsville is a kind and welcoming ‘people community’ in which to open and operate a business – especially during these difficult times for business. We are so pleased with the response we have received“. Stittsville is also delighted to welcome Maverick’s to the community.

The opening was also celebrated with Liz and Jon by Pierre Poilievre, MP for Carleton; Goldie Ghamari, MPP for Carleton; and, Allan Ryan, President of the Stittsville Business Association.

Liz only living here for two years, has roots in the community – and has returned to her Grandparents home town. Stuart and Mary Brooks were long-time residents before moving to Kemptville. Her Mom is Roz (many of us have fond memories of Roz from our school days). I’m sure that some ‘Stittsville originals‘ will remember the kind-hearted couple, their community involvement and family from years past.
