Detour due to emergency sewer work on Stittsville Main this weekend

Stittsville Main Street Detour

(via city councillor Shad Qadri)

This is to notify you that the City of Ottawa Sewer and Water Department have flagged an emergency sewer repair matter that needs immediate attention on Stittsville Main Street between Abbott Street and Beverly Street (in front of Bradley Insurance) on the east side of the road.

The work will be undertaken from 7:00 p.m. Friday August 14th to 5:00 a.m. Monday August 17th.

As a result of this work a road closure will be in affect between Abbott Street and Beverly Street that will direct all traffic south, but will continue to maintain local access for residents and businesses.

A detour will be installed for northbound traffic only to follow Abbott Street to West Ridge Drive to Beverly Street. An Ottawa Police Officer will be on hand to help direct traffic at the intersection of Abbott Street and Stittsville Main Street during the day time hours.

Portable Variable Mobile Signs (PVMS) are being placed on Stittsville Main Street (northbound) and Abbott Street (westbound) later today or tomorrow morning to advise of the upcoming work. Two additional PVMS will also be installed on Stittsville Main Street at Fallowfield Road and Fernbank Road to detour traffic in advance of the closure.  The City’s communications staff are delivering letters to the residents and local business that are within closest proximity of the area where the work is being conducted.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that this work may cause.
