What’s open Easter weekend from public health to veterinary hospitals and everything in between

With Easter happening this weekend, here is a list of services other stores that are open in the Kanata and Stittsville area:

Retail: (Note – most are closed for Easter Monday)

  • Giant TigerAll Giant Tiger locations are open on Saturday and Monday.
  • Loblaws stores are open across the region from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm.
  • Your Independent Grocer stores are open. Stores will open from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. daily for shoppers 65 years of age and older. Brown’s YIG closes at 8:00 pm daily.
  • Sobeys stores are open. Sobeys is introducing a Seniors Shopping Hourat 8:00 am and are open until 8:00 pm.
  • Farm Boy is open. The Hot Bar, Salad Bar, Soup Bar, and Olive Bar are closed. The first hour of shopping at all stores will be reserved for the most vulnerable customers and those that require extra attention, particularly seniors, people with disabilities and pregnant women. They are open 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.
  • M&M Food Market – All M&M Food Market stores are open Easter Monday. Stittsville is open from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm daily and Kanata is open 10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily.
  • CostcoCostco says its stores remain open, but limits have been implemented on certain items to help ensure more members are able to access the merchandise they want and need. Costco has also taken steps to limit the number of shoppers in its warehouses. Open on Saturday from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm and on Monday from 9:00 am – 8:30 pm.
  • Walmart – Open 7:00 am till 8:00 pm. The first hour is for seniors only.

Drug Stores and Pharmacies:

Restaurants:

  • Boston Pizza All Boston Pizza outlets are open for take-out and delivery. 613-592-7031
  • Dominos Dominos is open for take-out and delivery. 613-592-1022 and 613-595-1234
  • St. Hubert – Delivery and pick up services (drive-thru or at the counter). Only credit or debit cards will be accepted.
  • Hurley’s Grilllocations in Kanata are open for takeout and Uber Eats delivery
  • Amuse Kitchen – on Eagleson Road is open for takeout and delivery 613-880-8883
  • Cheshire Cat – on Richardson Side Road is open for take out 613-831-2183
  • Napolis Cafe on Main Street Stittsville is open for takeout and delivery 613-836-7772
  • PocoPazzo on Hazeldean Road is open for takeout. 613-836-7100
  • Amberwood Lounge & Eatery – is open for delivery by pre-order 613- 831-2442
  • The Glen Scottish Restaurant and Pub in Stittsville is open for takeout Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays. 613-836-5622
  • Tim Hortons: Tim Hortons says all restaurants will focus on take-out, drive-thru, and delivery services.
  • Starbucks: Drive-thrus and delivery options remain available for customers.
  • McDonald’s: McDonald’s remains open Drive-Thru and McDelivery only.
  • Second Cup: All Second Cup cafes across Canada will offer take out, delivery and drive-thru only.

Pet Care:

  • The Alta Vista Animal Hospital is open but is not letting visitors inside. If your pet has an emergency please call 613-731-6851 before coming to the hospital.
  • The Algonquin Animal Hospital is open but is limiting access to the hospital. You’re asked to call 613-505-4993 before visiting the hospital for any reason and staff will direct you.
  • The Hazeldean Animal Hospital is open but is limiting hours and only allowing patients inside. Call 613-831-8788 before visiting.

Green Bin, Recycling and Garbage Collection:

  • There will be no curbside collection for green bin, recycling or garbage on Good Friday, April 10 and Easter Monday, April 13. Friday’s collection will be collected on Saturday April 11. Easter Monday will be collected on Tuesday, April 14. Collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
  • Garbage at multi-residential properties will be collected on the regularly scheduled day. Recycling containers and green bin collection will be delayed by one day.

Transit Service:

  • OC Transpo bus service and O-Train Line 2 will continue to operate the current reduced weekday service on Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13. O-Train Line 1 will operate a modified service on Friday, April 10 and the current reduced weekday service on Monday, April 13. On Friday, April 10 some Connexion route service will also be reduced.   • OC Transpo Customer Service (613-741-4390) will be open on Friday, April 10 from 8 am to 9 pm and on Monday, April 13 from 7 am to 9 pm.
  • Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) customers can plan their trips using Plani-bus.
  • Para Transpo will operate a holiday service on Friday, April 10, Sunday, April 12 and Monday, April 13. Regular scheduled trips are automatically canceled on these dates, with the exception of Sunday, April 12. Customers may start booking trips one week before by calling 613-244-7272 or online
    • April 3 for Friday, April 10 bookings
    • April 5 for Sunday, April 12 bookings
  • April 6 for Monday, April 13 bookings
  • Para Transpo customers are reminded to suspend regular bookings if they do not need the trip on a statutory holiday.
  • Para Transpo’s Taxi Coupon line (613-842-3670) will be closed on Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13. The line for reservations and cancellations (613-244-7272) will be open during regular hours.

Ottawa Public Health:

  • The Brewer Assessment Centre will be open at 9 am to 3 pm from Friday April 10 to Monday April 13.
  • The West end care clinic will maintain its regular hours from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed on Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13.
  • The Site program office at 179 Clarence Street, including supervised consumption services, will be open as usual from 9 am to 9 pm. The Site mobile van will operate on a regular schedule from 5 pm to 11:30 pm.
  • The Ottawa Public Health Information Centre will be closed on Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13 for general calls. Ottawa Public Health’s COVID-19 phone line will be open every day from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on Easter weekend. Find the latest health information at ca.
  • The Dental Clinics will be closed on Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13.
  • Parenting in Ottawa Drop-ins will be closed until further notice
  • The Baby Help Line is available from 9:00 until 15:00, 7 days a week for families of babies between 0 to 3 months of age.
