The Stittsville Village Association is holding their Annual General Meeting for residents of Stittsville.
At this meeting, all board member positions will be nominated and voted on to become a member of the board. We’ll also hear from community members who would like to share comments with the board.
Currently, the Vice-President and many member-at-large positions are vacant. We’re recruiting new board members to coordinate social media advertising, volunteer sign-ups, fundraising, and support for our annual events:
● Parade of Lights in December
● Canada Day celebration
● Art in the Park at Village Square
● Music and Movies at Village Square
The reality is this: existing board members are stretched thin, and these events are at risk without more people stepping up to help us coordinate. We’re looking for fresh ideas AND the energy to make it happen.
Commitment is flexible, but involves one monthly meeting, in addition to support in lead-up and on event-days. We get it – many people don’t have the time! Financial donations are also critical to putting on our favourite community events.
