The family of Alex Sanghwan has set up an online fundraising campaign to raise money for his medical care. The Stittsville man was critically injured in Miami in late March.
His family is hoping to raise $100,000. As of Monday evening, over 450 people have made donations and about a third of that amount has been raised so far.
The campaign is on the crowdfunding site gofundme.com and is called “Pray for Alex“:
Alex was involved in a serious accident while on vacation in Miami that left him in critical condition. Alex and his family are extremely grateful for all the support that they are receiving. They ask that you continue to pray for Alex. We have created this page in order to request your financial support for him through this very difficult time.
After a violent hit and run while on vacation, Alex is now fighting for his life in an induced coma at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
His loved ones are with him at his bedside with a determined focus on supporting him. We are seeking financial support in order to help with medical treatment costs and the longeterm [sic] care that he will require.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have supported and continue to support Alex through the long journey ahead.
The family also has set up a Facebook page where they’re posting updates.
