Fundraising concert at The Glen will support Syrian refugees

We are planning a fundraising concert on Saturday February 20 to assist us in supporting refugees from Syria, Saturday February 20 at The Glen restaurant (1010 Stittsville Main St. in the Jackson Trails Shopping Centre).

Music by the Kanata band “FOAM” (Five Old Angry Musicians – Music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s).  Music starts by 8:00 pm, but come any time after5:00 pm as seating is limited.  No cover charge.  Raffles for great prizes.  Donations will be gratefully received in support of the Kanata Stittsville Refugee Sponsorship Group.  Come and help sponsor refugees from Syria.

We would also like you to know that our sponsorship application for a single female from Syria, has been forwarded to the Anglican Diocese and should be sent to Immigration, Citizenship and Refugees Canada very soon.  We are also nearing the completion of an application for a single male from Syria.  Both of these individuals have family members here in Ottawa who will assist with their support.  We also hope to sponsor another family through government channels.

(Rev. Grant Dillenbeck from Stittsville United Church chairs the  Kanata Stittsville Refugee Sponsorship Group. He can be reached at 613-836-4962.)
