Look at this picture – do you recognise this man? If you have been at any of our music evenings over the last year you probably will find his face familiar. Greg has played a few times in the shop, always to great acclaim, especially from the other musicians who drop by to listen. But more than that, he often comes in to support and hear other musical talents as they entertain us – a real cornerstone of the Ottawa musical community, especially for all the work he does hosting music nights in other locations.
Greg plays incredibly well and sings with a depth of character that conveys his great experience in the domain of songwriting as well as his perceptiveness on the situation of life. His style has an easy blend of folk and country influences and a musicality that brings with it a deep degree of authority and conviction.
This will be the first music night concert under the aegis of the new ownership of Gaia Java under Dan and Bernie, and I am proud that Greg has agreed to come along and christen that new era with his wonderful entertainment. So please come along and encourage the staff, the new owners, the musicians and the great community of Stittsville as we continue to value this great artistic resource that helps us forget the trials of winter and the US election campaign.
Go to Greg’s website at: www.gregkellysongs.ca and learn more about his music, or just show up Friday confident that you will get an great evening of entertainment for the price of a small donation and buying a couple of drinks!
