Hazeldean Pharmacy – RxPharmaChoice set to celebrate grand opening

(The new Hazeldean Pharmacy RxPharmaChoice is ready to open on October 2, 2020 in Stittsville.)

Ritesh (Rick) Patel is looking forward to celebrate the grand opening of his new Hazeldean Pharmacy RxPharmaChoice located at 6150 Hazeldean Road in Stittsville (situated between The Royal Oak and Hazeldean Gardens). The ceremony will take place at 10:30 am on October 2, 2020.

Ritesh is excited to bring his new and modern compounding pharmacy to Stittsville – his community. Following social distancing protocols, the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will be celebrated with Pierre Poilievre, MP for Carlton; Goldie Gharmari, MPP for Carleton; Councillor Glen Gower, Ward 6 Stittsville; Tanya Hein, President of the Stittville Village Association; and, Allan Ryan, President of the Stittsville Business Association, along with Ritesh and Neha Patel.

Ritesh and Neha look forward to personally meeting Stittsville and area residents and extend a public invitation to attend the ceremony. They will also be offering customers 20% off of purchases on opening day.

Ritesh shared with Stittsville Central the background of the two principal Pharmacists (from a team of four) so everyone is familiar with them upon visiting the pharmacy. “Neha was born and studied in India. Coming to Canada over 10 years ago as a student, she passed all of her Pharmacist license exams and has been working for the last five years. The past three years, she has been working in a compounding pharmacy and because of her experience, it was the motivation needed to open a full-service modern compounding pharmacy. Neha has been living in Stittsville for four years, and plans to stay here long-term, so the decision to open their new endeavour here was easily made. Neha wants to provide quality care to her patients in her own community. She likes to provide one-on-one service that gives her the opportunity to know her patients needs and provide the best of quality care by considering all factors affecting her patient’s health.”

Ritesh tells us that he too was born in India and came to Canada ten years ago as a student. He received his Pharmacist license and has been working in community pharmacies for over five years. Ritesh began his career in Lethbridge, Alberta working as a staff pharmacist for London Drugs. He then decided to move to Ottawa where he has worked for Rexall and Loblaws pharmacies for the past three years. Ritesh has resided in Stittsville for the past three years.

I have always wished to open my own pharmacy and to serve the community where I live. I want to be involved in the Stittsville community as much as I can,” said Ritesh. His pharmacy has been in the works for sometime and finally his wish has come to fruition.

  1. It might have been helpful to include info on how a compounding pharmacy compares to other pharmacies. Or offer an article on this in the future. I didn’t know the difference and found it online. I was very surprised to find that not all pharmacies are the same and may factor this into some future choices.

    1. Hi Ian – Ritesh is planning to contribute some blogs to Stittsville Central – as you suggested, explaining compounding pharmacies could be the content for the first one.
