Stittsville’s Junior B hockey team announced on Twitter today that they’ll be changing their name back to “Royals”, after playing as the RAMS last season.
The franchise ran into a dispute with the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) last spring, and were told to stop using the RAMS logo and brand, just 1 year into a 3-year agreement between the franchise and the association. The Junior B team played independently as the Royals from 2003-2014.
Training camp for the Royals opened today.
We are back officially as the Stittsville Royals for the 2015/2016 season. Different name, same expectations!!
