LEGION: Family breakfast, Legion dance, and more upcoming events

EUCHRE: On Tuesday, January 9th, Euchre was played at the Stittsville Legion. John Penelton had the most Lone Hands. Jackie Ralph had the Ladies High Score with Myrna Robertson placing second.The Men’s High Score was won by Wayne Pilon with Dave Argue as the runner-up. Shirley Walker won the Low Score with Larry Romard winning the Hidden Score.

BOOK CLUB: The next book club will be held on Monday, January 22nd The book of the month will be “Pope Joan” by Donna Woolfolk Cross.

WEEKLY EVENTS:

Euchre hosted by the 55 Plus Club is played every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Legion Hall on Stittsville Main Street. Everyone is welcome to participate.

The “Acoustic Jam Night” that is held in the Legion Hall will meet on Wednesday’s from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event is open to everyone. No percussion allowed, for more information e-mail Brenda Hamilton at singersoloist@gmail.com or call her at 613-286-9173.

An “Open Mic and sing-along” with Bill Martin is held every Friday starting at 8 p.m. in the downstairs lounge at the Legion Hall. Come and enjoy some country and rock n roll music. There is NO cover charge.

The knitting/crochet club will meet at the Legion Hall every Monday at 6:30 p.m. except for holidays. For more information contact June Warner at 613-836-1167.

COMING EVENTS:

The first Sunday family breakfast will be held on January 14th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.

On Saturday, January 20th a Legion Dance will be held with the band “Divided Highway” entertaining starting at 9 p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. A cover charge of $10.00 at the door.

On Friday, January 26th, “Karaoke” with Mike will be held starting at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome NO Cover charge for Karaoke. Also starting at 5 p.m. the Bi-weekly supper of Roast Pork with all the trimmings will be served.
