The Knights of Columbus in association with the Holy Spirit Parish Community and Youth Organization are holding an on-line auction to raise funds for local charities and causes. The groups are pleased to offer all the chance to participate in the submission of online auction items in April, 2021. The estimated final bidding date is May 16 with pre-bidding and registration currently taking place.
Some of the charities supported are the Holy Spirit Youth Groups, Stittsville Foodbank and Chrysalis House (a safe and secure 25-bed shelter for women and children in Western Ottawa). Covid-19 has created an extraordinary demand on shelter space as spouses and children are seeking emancipation from the increase in domestic abuse due to isolation. The Holy Spirit Youth Group and our Foodbank are always in need as well.
You Can Help Now
We are currently looking for items that you wish to either donate, or share to our auction. There is a choice – either donate the items entirely to the Knights/Parish for auction and after an applied 15% fee for the auction software and process, the remainder of the money raised will go to Chrysalis House. You may also want to share in the proceeds – which means you can receive 50% of the proceeds from the net auction amounts for your own purpose. This way, everyone wins.
There will be small, medium and larger items that you will no doubt want to offer for the auction. The small and medium items can be stored at the Church Hall where they will be photographed and inventoried, while the larger items (furniture/ automobiles/heavy equipment) can be photographed at your residence and then uploaded online to the auction site.
There will be an online auction pre-bidding taking place before the final day of bidding which is May 16. This gives everyone a chance to view the items and post their pre-bidding amounts. Then the live online auction the day of the event where you can track the items and bid to win!
Drop off and pick-up of items will be handled contactless. We have all systems designed for following all Covid-19 protocols and your safety is our main concern.
