The Stittsville Legion is in the process of raising funds for a new building. The Main & Abbott Dance Band is having a fundraiser on Saturday, December 2 at the Legion in Stittsville. Admission is $10.00 which includes a light snack. This is the same evening as the Parade of Lights – so start with the parade and finish with an exciting swing dance. The music starts at 8:00 – don’t be late! Tickets are available at The Legion.
Main & Abbott is a community band based in Stittsville. Founded in 2010, the band has performed engagements at community events, retirement residences and Legion fundraisers. The band specializes in songs from the swing era made famous by Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and many others.
Band members are volunteers and mostly from the west end of Ottawa including doctors, engineers, teachers, small business owners, and retired military. The Band rehearses at the Legion in Stittsville every Wednesday night.
