FENCED DOG RUNS PLANNED FOR STITTSVILLE SOUTH NEIGHBOURHOOD

Valecraft Homes recently tweeted out the design of a park and stormwater pond in their new Rathwell Landing neighbourhood, (located south of the existing Westwind neighbourhood).

Those two brown areas on the right side of the map are fenced dogs runs, one for small dogs and one for big dogs.  They’re part of the second phase of the neighbourhood to be built in late 2018 / early 2019.

Those fenced dog runs will be a first for Stittsville.  It’s about time.  We had a guest columnist write this issue back in 2015…

MORE CASH FOR ROAD REPAIRS

Back in July, City Council approved another half million dollars for road repairs across the city, including paving damanged shoulders on Carp Road between Westbrook and Rothbourne. That’s in addition to previously-announced fixes on McCooye Lane, Hobin Street and the Abbott/Stittsville Main intersection.Abbott Street at Stittsville Main.

HERE’S THE SCOOP

Quitters officially opened Redd’s Ice Cream this week, a food truck parked behind the coffee shop. They’ll be serving products from the Carp Custom Creamery for the rest of the summer. (Redd is owner Kathleen Edwards‘ golden retriever.)
