OC Transpo fares and Ottawa Police Service fees to rise January 1st

All OC Transpo fares, except the EquiPass, Community Pass, and Access Pass, will increase by an average of 2.5 per cent to keep pace with inflation and the cost of providing transportation. There is no increase to EquiPass, Community and Access Pass prices. For detailed information on fares, customers should visit octranspo.com.

Seniors 65 and older continue to ride at no charge on Wednesdays and Sundays, and children five and under ride at no charge every day. For 2021, the Family DayPass will be available for March Break, July and August, and during the Christmas holidays at a cost of $11 for up to six people.

Effective January 1, 2021, Ottawa Police Services will be charging $66 to obtain a criminal records check, criminal records and judicial matters check, and a vulnerable sector check. Adoption application fees will cost $108. Rates for police reports have also risen slightly, with motor vehicle reports costing $200.88, collision reconstruction reports $2,245, general occurrence reports $58, fingerprinting $50, and a pardon application $66, not including HST. Please note that while Ottawa remains under Orange or higher COVID-19 levels, as determined by the province, volunteer fees will be waived, but will rise to $20.40.
