Stittsville parent Kim Davis couldn’t find a family yoga class in the area at a convenient time, so she created her own.
Starting Tuesday, July 21 and continuing until August 18, yoga instructor Stefania Moffatt will be leading a family yoga session at Alexander Grove Park from 11am-noon.
Davis says she’s participated in family yoga classes before, where parents and their kids (usually moms and their toddlers) take part in exercises together. She wanted to find a daytime class that wouldn’t conflict with when her little ones were taking naps.
She approached several yoga studios in the area, but none of them could offer what she was looking for. That’s when she turned to the Stittsville Moms Facebook group and found a lot of enthusiastic support.
Moffatt is a certified hatha yoga teacher who does group classes at a variety of locations in Ottawa, including at offices. She’s also a writer and nutritionist. The family yoga class costs $20 per family, and advance registration is required by emailing stefaniamoffatt@gmail.com.
