There is a new deadline for applications to enter the Paint It Up graffiti program due to the disruptions caused by the COVID – 19 restrictions.
The new deadline is Tuesday, April 14th, 2020. All applications must be emailed to cpo@ottawa.ca no later than 4:00 pm.
Currently, we plan to proceed with the 2020 youth mural projects. However, please note that we cannot finalize our grant contracts with recipients until Ottawa Public Health has lifted the current restrictions on gatherings.

The Paint It Up program provides funding for mural art projects that support graffiti prevention, as well as empowering youth, the safety of various communities in Ottawa and the beautification of our neighborhoods.
These projects must contribute to a clean, safe and beautiful city by engaging neighborhoods and youth in a process that encourages their creativity and helps them to constructively learn how to create murals that will prevent or deter graffiti.

The Paint It Up program is now in its eleventh year. It was created in 2010. It has involved more than 2,673 youth ranging in age from 12 to 25, who worked on 82 projects across the city supported by an average project of $5,000. These outdoor murals have proven to be effective in managing graffiti vandalism. They have also been effective in supporting arts and culture and have contributed to economic development and provided youth engagement opportunities.
