Nearly sixty businesses, clubs, and other organizations have registered to enter a float in this year’s Parade of Lights, hosted by the Stittsville Village Association. The event takes place on Saturday, December 2, starting at 6:00pm along Stittsville Main Street.

Each float promises to be festively lit and decorated in the spirit of the holiday season — and with forecasted temperatures hovering just above freezing, there should be plenty of spectators out to enjoy the spectacle.

The parade route follows Stittsville Main Street from just north of Brown’s YIG to Carleton Cathcart Street. Stittsville Main Street will close at 5:40 pm for the duration of the parade, so please plan any travel accordingly.

Santa, of course, will arrive at the end of the parade, with help from his friends from Fire Stations 81 and 46, before making his way back to Village Square Park for cookies, hot chocolate, and the annual park-lighting ceremony. Students from West End Music School will provide musical entertainment before and after the parade.

Heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers, and to the businesses who have contributed to make this event a successful one: Mattamy Homes, Warmstone Family Dentistry, and Petro-Canada Gas Bar, Glide Wash and Convenience Store (6061 & 6250 Hazeldean Road).
