UPDATE (SATURDAY): Police seek witnesses to drive-by shooting

UPDATE (Saturday): The Kanata Centrum BIA sent out this note about a planned children’s event today: “There was an incident last night which took place on the Queensway at Eagleson and landed in the Centrum; the investigation has now been completed and the Bunny Hop is going ahead as planned. We look forward to seeing you all there! Hippity Hop Hop Hop! Happy Easter!”

UPDATE (Saturday): Police re-opened Eagleson Road on Saturday morning around 1:30am. The guns and gangs unit continues to investigate.

Via Ottawa Paramedics: “Paramedics responded to a call for two patients that had been shot. The two men were located in the area of the Kanata Centrum. The Ottawa Paramedic Service Communications Centre received the call at 21:32 hrs today March 30, 2018. Advanced Care Paramedics treated two male patients in their mid 20’s for penetrating trauma, consistent with gun shot wounds, and transported to the Trauma Centre. Patient #1. Critical condition. Patient # 2. Serious but stable condition.
Ottawa Police and OPP are investigating.”

Police have closed Eagleson in both directions between Campeau and Katimavik, including the Queensway overpass, as they investigate a criminal incident that occurred on Friday evening. Police say there is no danger to the public.

A number of people have posted reports via social media of a large police and emergency services presence in the Kanata Centrum area near the Best Buy / Baton Rouge.
