On November 7, Rock the Rink comes to Ottawa’s TD Place featuring Canadian skating greats – Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Patrick Chan, Kaetlyn Osmond and Elvis Stojko. This skating production follows on the heels of the highly successful Thank You Canada tour of last year.

Not only will you see these skating greats perform, but our very own local Special Olympic skaters and World Champions Katie Xu and Jack Fan were selected to skate in this upcoming show. The pair will be performing alongside many World and Olympic champions.

Katie and Jack’s long-time Coach, Cathy Skinner told Stittsville Central, “this is an honour to have been asked to participate and an incredible opportunity for Katie and Jack to perform alongside their idols, while being able to showcase their abilities to a new and captive audience.”

With the help of this all-star cast, the message of inclusion will be increased and showcase how Special Olympics can help transform the lives of children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability.

Rock the Rink is an entertainment experience that highlights the world’s best figure skaters in an environment that appeals to all your senses. This annual tour focuses on being more than a figure skating show. It’s an evening that takes you on a journey – at times, a nostalgic one.

Katie and Jack, along with Cathy, have already appeared November 1st on Rogers TV for an interview about their participation in Rock the Rink. You can catch-up with them again for the planned November 4th interview on CTV Morning Live.

One more reason to support and celebrate these two incredible Stittsville athletes!
