On Tuesday July 16, at 7 p.m., the Stittsville Minor Softball Association will be hosting an event at the Alexander Grove Park located at 10 Warren-Colpitts Drive Lane, called a “Night at the Grove”.
This is the inaugural charity fastball game with our very own men’s Stittsville 56ers taking on the West Carleton Electric, who will battle it out as part of the Provincial Women’s Softball Association supported “Pink in the Park” initiative. “Pink in the Park” is a North American breast cancer awareness campaign where competitive softball teams are invited to wear a pink jersey on played Saturday games to support those impacted by breast cancer.
We will have a lot of goodies for sale at the game, so there are many ways you can contribute! There will be an assortment of munchies and family-friendly refreshments sold at the canteen, there will be a popcorn machine, cotton candy machine, Stittsville 56ers t-shirts, and a 50/50 draw. All funds raised at the game will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
Grab the family and come on out in your favourite 56ers gear this Tuesday – and help fill our bleachers as we come together to watch some great ball and support each other while working towards helping this worthy cause! #pinkinthepark #smsa #pwsa #go56ers #Stittsville
