The Ottawa Public Library (OPL) will be scaling back some of its services in compliance with the provincial shutdown set to begin on December 26. OPL will offer “curbside” returns and holds pickup at open branches and Bookmobile stops. Delivery for Homebound Services customers in their own homes will also continue during this period.
As per provincial regulations, customers will not be allowed inside the branches during this time. All in-branch services will be unavailable during the shutdown period. Ski and museum passes will not be available during this period, nor the ability to book the telescope at the Stittsville Branch.
Customers will be able to return items and pick up holds without an appointment. Customers will need to bring their library cards and line up at the branch entrance to pick up their holds. Employees will facilitate the collection and pick up of materials.
OPL continues to follow direction from the Province of Ontario and guidance from Ottawa Public Health to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
