The warm airs of spring will bring forth the tulips and blossom buds will swell and bloom. At the same time, musical airs will warm your heart with songs that bring back moments in time. The West Ottawa Ladies Chorus, applauded for its showmanship will present a concert with a program that appeals to all ages. “Musical Memories”, promises to deliver an evening that ranges from nostalgic tunes to show tunes to classical to jazz. Special memories in your life will spring to the fore as the chorus sing that song or songs that brings alive a moment-in-time. As the audience listens and wanders down Memory Lane, they will be rewarded by the excellent blend of voices. This is an evening not to be missed.
Under the direction of Director, Robert Dueck, accompanied by Peter Brown most selections are delivered in four-part harmony. The variety of rhythms and moods is what makes this evening one that needs to go on your calendar. Don’t miss ‘I’m Looking Over a Four-Leaf Clover’ written in 1927, and hits from the ‘40’s, ‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’, ‘Java Jive’ and ‘Chattanoogo Choo Choo’. Then experience selections from well loved musicals, ‘Edelweiss’ from The Sound of Music, ‘Razzle Dazzle’ from Chicago and ‘Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man’ from Show Boat. You will close your eyes and revel in Gershwin’s ‘The Man I Love’ or tap your foot to the McGuire Sisters ‘50’s hit ‘Sugartime’, and more. It will all be there.
Come prepared to bid on special gift baskets all themed to spring.
