A second public open house about future development in the Kanata Highlands will be held on Tuesday, December 8 from 7pm-8pm in the Owen Prince Room, Mlacak Centre.
Come and find out the results of the Existing Conditions and Constraints Analysis done for the new development property required before finalizing a development plan. The Kanata Highlands is owned by Richcraft and is one of the expansion lands added to the urban area. The legal address is 820 Huntmar Drive, while the property runs between Huntmar and Terry Fox Drive. This meeting is the follow up to the first public open house which was held on June 16, 2015. This land was added into the urban boundary and designated “Urban Expansion Study Area” on Schedule B – Urban Policy Plan of the City of Ottawa Official Plan. Once the comprehensive evaluation of these lands is complete an Official Plan Amendment is required to re-designate the lands from Urban Expansion Study Area to General Urban Area.
Very much looking forward to the discussion about a fenced-in dog park – what a brilliant addition to the community that is already known to be one of the most dog-friendly sectors in town! Finally – a reason for my friends out east to make their way to the west end!!! Please make it happen!!!
Totally agree with having a fenced, off-leash, dog park.
Most dogs benefit from being allowed to play off-leash with other dogs.
Having a designated place without worry of escape is a great relief to dog owners.
Currently some dog owners allow their dogs off-leash in non-designated areas, which can cause problems. Making a location easily available can help minimize this.
A fenced off-leash park in Kanata North – a wonderful idea! Somewhere dogs can safely play and socialize without disturbing people and wildlife, and without risking being hit by cars or even bikes. And close to where I live, what could be better?
So hoping this goes through ..we just got a puppy and would love a place to let him loose safely and this would be so close to home Please make this happen
