Every summer A Company of Fools brings their Torchlight Shakespeare productions to the Alexander Grove Park in Stittsville. The local company’s 2020 season has unfortunately been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In honour of William Shakespeare’s birthday on April 23, the company is bringing a live virtual threatrical reading to the Ottawa Public Library’s (OPL) Facebook live site.
The two organizations have joined together to bring the audience a live reading of Act I of The Tempest, directed and adapted by Ray Hogg. As you listen to the actors, see the costume designs and set design renderings created by Vanessa Imeson and Brian Smith. Following the performance, you will also be able to participate in a brief Q&A with the cast, director, and designers.
Tune in to this virtual reading of Shakespeare on Thursday, April 23 at 1:00 pm as it takes place on the OPL’s link — Facebook Live.
OPL is pleased to connect customers and the community to the lively and versatile performers of a Company of Fools and help keep theatre alive in our city during this period of isolation.
