The last weekend of summer has crept up on everyone with cooler nights and darker evenings, but there is still lots of local events to enjoy.
Saturday, September 21st —
Memory Cafe – For World Alzheimer’s Day the Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library is hosting their first Open House on what will be a monthly event for persons with dementia, their care partners, and families! The It takes place from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Please wear blue to help raise awareness!
Re-Read Used Books on Stittsville Main Street, is hosting a book launch and author signing for Stittsville’s Keith Landry starting at 10:30 am for his recently published book entitled, “Allumette Island Massacre and Three Other Canadian Crime Stories”.
Come out to Brew Revolution and enjoy the music of TJ & Matt live. Starts at 4:30 pm.
Live music compliments of the Stittsville United Church (Main Street and Fernbank Road). Rory Gardiner will be performing at a Family Fun Concert starting at 7:00 pm.
Sunday, September 22 —
Stittsville Market at the Barn located at Village Square Park from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Here are this week’s vendors – Four B Farm, Taste Blooms, B’s Honey, Munster Farm, Holmespun Ice Cream, Capener Creations and Kristy’s Naturals.
From 11:00 am until 4:00 pm you can stop by the Stittsville Seniors Retirement Residence (Revera) at 1354 Main Street to purchase a Sweet Memories Cake with all proceeds going to the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Society. If you wish to donate a cake, please drop it off on Saturday, September 21 at Revera from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm or prior to 9:00 am on Sunday.
