On Thursday, June 13th you will have the opportunity to attend an outreach session to comment on the future use of municipal recreation facilities in Stittsville. The session takes place from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. in the Main Hall at the CardelRec-Goulbourn Complex.

The City of Ottawa wants to receive your comments for both — the CardelRec-Goulbourn Complex and the Johnny Leroux Community Centre.

This is a multi-phase study by the city on what residents would like to see included in future designs of recreation facilities. There are five categories for comments:

  • Ice pads and arenas
  • Pools and aquatics
  • Recreation centres
  • Courts and sports fields
  • Outdoor facilities, such as field houses, beach pavilions and dog parks

The public meetings are the first phase of what will be an ongoing dialogue about the future of recreation facilities. Residents can share their opinions and provide recommendations in an online discussion beginning in July.

The information gathered through the online discussion and the public meetings will be used to inform reports to Council, beginning in fall 2019.
