Merry, bright and everything nice – Santa visited Stittsville in a very large way and The Grinch too

Christmas is the season to be jolly. Remember these words – “You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I’m telling you why – Santa Claus is coming to town.” Well, Santa arrived in a very large way on the front lawns of the houses on Bert G. Argue Drive. The Christmas spirit of the neighbourhood was front and centre with over 20 Santa inflatables adorning front yards. Santa seemed to arrive from Home Hardware.

Scott Campbell shared the photo above from one of his walks along Bert G. Argue. He shared, “clearly there’s a community spirit there!”

Stittsville Central visited the street to see for ourselves and capture the oversized Santa presence. Santa could be found in trees, behind trees and paired with other characters for all to enjoy. With every gust of wind, Santa waved his little black mittens back at you as you drove down the street. Of course, a team of Santa’s fancy reindeer made the scene complete. Is this the beginning of a Christmas tradition?

A family who lives nearby, at Cherry and Sunnyside, always decorate outdoors for every occasion. We always enjoy visiting and just had to see what their theme was this year! As we drove up we could see you’re a mean one Mr. Grinch! Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch was vividly watching all who stopped or went past the house.

There were wooden painted decorations from Whoville, little Cindy-Lou Who, Max the Grinch’s pet dog, the choir could be found singing Welcome Christmas (or otherwise known as Dahoo Dores) and The Grinch’s best thought “Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more.” was shared on a decorated sign.

Every year, this family captures the true spirit and meaning of the holidays with the displays they choose.
