Tiny tots and big kids young and old had eyes all aglow as they watched dozens of brightly lit floats travel down Stittsville Main Street for last night’s Parade of Lights.
Parade marshals were all winners of this year’sStittsville Appreciation Awards: Namitha Abraham (youth), Robin Derrick (senior), Cathy Skinner (Citizen of the Year). The Business winner was Brown’s Independent, who had one of the largest floats in the parade.
The parade is organized by the elves at the Stittsville Village Association, with lots of assistance from community volunteers including the Lions Club, Ottawa Fire Department and Ottawa Police. The Lions Club decorated all the trees in Village Square Park, where Santa took part in the traditional tree lighting ceremony after the parade.
