As we do every year at the Butter Tart Festival, we select a cause close to us and fundraise by selling people’s choice voting tickets and by holding a silent auction.
This year, our hearts are with the Giffen family. The entire Giffen family is incredibly involved in the Stittsville community helping in putting on some of our great events each year, including Canada Day Celebrations and the Parade of Lights. Chelsea has been a member of the Stittsville Village Association (SVA) for several years now and her and Bryan are always there working these events from start to finish. You’ll also always find Grayson with them helping with set-up, take down, working at a barricade during the Parade of Lights or helping in the park, and generally doing all the work that has to be done to make these events successful. And on top of that, their two younger daughters must put up with everything their parents and brother do!
Now, they face a challenge no family should ever have to endure—Grayson has recently been diagnosed with cancer. As they transition into a new routine, we’re asking the community to come and help us in turn give back to them.
Keep an eye out on our website for more info regarding the silent auction -> www.atthebarn.ca.
