Kungfu Bistro on Carp Road in Stittsville is planning a Chinese New Year celebration at the restaurant on Monday Feb 8.

“We’ve been practicing for the Chinese Lion Dance and the 25 foot Dragon will be entertaining the customers on this night,” says owner Margarita Chen. “I’m selling tickets for this event and customers will start arriving at 5pm, with food and entertainment starting around 5:30 pm.  Drums, cymbals, even a gong will be some of the instruments used for the festivities.  For those not able to obtain a table (and we are reserving only tables of 6, so no small tables), they are welcomed to come by around 5:45 pm for standing room only to observe the festivities.”

Chen says while they are accepting reservations of 6 people, if people cannot have a full table, they can people around.  This evening is expected to be very casual, with a family feel.

“We’ll be celebrating the Year of the Monkey (I can’t guarantee we won’t be goofing around) and there are at least 3 monkeys in our establishment,  myself included!”

Call 613-831-6808 for reservations.
