Cycling from Stittsville to the Ashton Brew Pub

Flights of beer at Ashton Brew Pub

My neighbour Bill and I recently cycled to the Ashton Brew Pub.  Ashton is just west of Stittsville and the pub is located inside the town’s old mill.

It’s easy to get to from Stittsville, just head west down the Trans Canada Trail.  Before the trail passes under Highway 7, you turn off onto West End Way, then left on Ashton Station Road.  The mill is on the corner roughly where Flewellyn Road intersects.

We sat on a patio at the back of the mill that overlooks the Jock River. We ate lunch and sampled a flight of beer featuring a variety of brews made on the premises.

It’s a 16km bike ride from Stittsville Main and Abbott to the pub.  It took us about an hour to get there at a decent pace. The ride back, powered by beer and french fries, was a few minutes faster.
